♣ Sentosa outing ♣

Sentosa outing with the team again but only 8 of us went. Took Sentosa monorail for the very 1st time after it's developed & settled ourselves at Siloso Beach (I think). We had a lot of fun playing Beach volleyball & American football.

Weather started to get bad at 5pm & we had to hide in the shelter til the rain stopped. Went down to the Ocean (by Prem) or pool (by Fern) for a dip & played Ling's favourite game again.

We did our shower using open shower taps & we created a mess over there. People staring at us wondering what the hell were we doing with our shower stuffs. Who cares? We dare to do it & that's us.

Home sweet home... I'm tired...

♣ Tiring weights session ♣

Went to KATC gym for our toning session with Chin. But after doing the program, we were complaining again... complaining why we did so many for our hands... Now my hands were like kang kong, so soft & I bet i'll ache the moment I get up from my bed.

Heard that next year will be an interesting year as there're quite a number of activities going on. Was excited upon hearing the training tour but was quite worried for myself. Year end is coming & I really hope that I can start another new career.

I can't believe I went for spin class alone. The class was boring, music boring, even the instructor wasn't that great either. Sigh~~ I still enjoyed the spin class at Planet Fitness where the instructor was so energetic that keeps me going. Perhaps I should wait for the membership to end...

♣ Club training after so long ♣

Went for club training today in preparation for the coming year end carnival. We played games between ourselves.

Didn't train for 3 weeks & I felt that it's been ages since I've trained. Was so tired, knee hurting... blah blah...

I'm seeing physio tomorrow & I really hope nothing happen to my knee... And the most important thing, MASSAGE!!!

♣ Bored... Pain... ♣

I can't imagine my life at work without internet access... The time will pass very slowly, slower than a snail.

Today I woke up with back ache or pain that irritated me while I'm washing up. Am I old already?

When there's more free time, my mind were all occupied with thoughts, be it good or bad. Thoughts occupied in my mind for reasons & they all came from my instincts. I just hope I won't do any silly stuffs.

♣ Member of California fitness ♣

Supposingly I should get 2 weeks free trial, but couldn't resist the promotion that they offered.

Reason why I didn't reject the offer was I always wanted to join California fitness but it was too expensive to join. On the other hand, I don't want to join due to my hectic schedule as a national player.

Taken the offer as I couldn't stand myself doing nothing at home after work. Furthermore, no one will be so free to ask me out everyday. If not... I rather start whatever trainings now so that I won't wait for this or that.

♣ Goodbye Coach Kate ♣

Arrived Changi airport at 5 plus in the evening to send Kate off. Us + Kailing, Grace, Rachel, Ms Nor, Min Li, June & Cyrus were there waiting for her. She's trying to avoid eye contact with us, & we know the reason why.

She gave a card for us, the team, with her curlsive writing again that took us awhile to recognize the words. So touching... I think she'll miss us a lot.

Fern & I gave her a photo album (compilations of 2004 to 2007 photos), notebooks for her to pen down her trainings/thoughts.

Time for her to check in & everyone wanted to hug her for the last time but she didn't want to. Prem just went to hug her & slowly Kate went over to hug everyone individually.

Bye Kate... We'll miss you...

♣ Farewell party for Kate ♣

Netball Singapore organised a farewell party for Kate at Ami, Siloso beach. The theme was Tropical & we, the national players, decided to wear blue bodysuits. Again, we made Kate embarrassed!

Had been drinking wine, beer ever since we finished our World Champs games. Got to stop soon, if not, the beer belly will pop out soon!


Kate gave a long speech on her interview in NS, the long journey she had with us, her happiest moment in Singapore was when she's with us, the national players.

That's touching~~~

On behalf of the team, Jean presented a gift (Adidas black watch) to her from us. As usual, Jean gave a thank you speech & she cried while the rest of us were holding back our tears.

Vicki also gave a speech on how Kate had brought up an elite team players. She's the one who introduced Singapore team to the Global. The credit goes to you, Kate.

♣ Back to singapore ♣

Sorry folks about not posting about other games with Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Malaysia. Too sick of updating about netball, too sick to watch netball matches telecast in their sport channel, too sick to hear those whistle sounds again...

Before we left from auckland, everyone just went up to Chaz to give her a final hug. I guessed she enjoyed being in the team as she cried while hugging us. It's ok, we'll still see one another in 2011.

Touched down to singapore, thanks for the sports school gals who came all the way down & waited for our arrival. The team seemed not wanting to go home as we kept hugging one another. This team had been training together for 3 to 4 years & we will definitely miss those training days.

Kate is leaving on sat for her another new career in Tasman. I think most people will be happy of her leaving. I will miss her when she's not around coaching us. She's the one who improved the team in terms of play, physically & mentally, bringing up Singapore standards, showing the world how Singapore plays.

Will we get another coach who's so devoted in coaching Singapore?

♣ 3rd game with Jamaica ♣

Yesterday I didn't have the mood to update the bloggy as got to wait for the com to be free to use & furthermore the wireless connection isn't that good.

Obviously we lost to them by a lot of goals but I'm quite happy as we met the atacking target. It wasn't a great game to watch as the Sunshine gals just lobbed into their shooter.

Netball has becoming more & more physical. More physical than men. Well... I guess netball is still a girls sport & every country is improving their play.

♣ 2nd game against Cooks ♣

The players were huge in size & most of them were 1 & 1/2 size bigger than me. Had a terrible hard time going around them, finding the free space. I got to squeeze my way through the front to pull a contact by them.

I played with Fen together & I wonder what the NZ commentators will say again. Yesterday they commented the pair of 1.69m shooters. What the hell... I wanted to be tall either. Sigh~~~

It was a tough & close game... We lost to them by 2 goals, 45 - 43.

♣ Game against Fiji ♣

We played our 1st game against Fiji & the score is 61 - 32. It was a good game compared to last time we played against them.

I went in at the 3rd quarter after Ling got injured, was nervous as I didn't do any mental preparation.

Terrible shooting... I don't know why either... I'm trying my best too despite playing with the injured finger.

Tomorrow against Cooks Island & I'll give my best.

Congratulations!!! Singapore won the bidding on hosting World Championships 2011.

Hope I won't hear about disgusting humans hooking up on the IFNA or the World Class netballers but I guess some will.

♣ Dislocated for the very 1st time ♣

Today friendly game against the NZ under 21s squad. I got my last left finger dislocated at the 2nd quarter last few seconds.

Luckily Eunice helped me to fix it back for me. I had to keep on icing the finger til it recovers.

Just came back from the CandleLight Ceremony & seen different players. They are so tall...

I'm have sore throat ever since I touched down to NZ & have been taking Danzen for inflammation. Seems like it's not working... Sigh~~~ Soon the flu will be coming as the sinus is already here... Jia lat!

♣ Cold windy night in NZ ♣

Hi all...

Updating my dearest bloggy at a Cyber cafe down the streets from the SkyCity Hotel. It was so cold & windy the whole day & I couldn't leave the streets without my Levis jeans. Got my 2nd birthday present from Ling, Eunice & J9. It's a long pants I'm yearning to buy & wear here.
1st friendly against Barbados & we lost by 3 goals. Could have won if we played even better during the 1st quarter.

Was rather moody throughout these 4 days & I'm waiting for everything to finish.

I just couldn't stand how people treating others in a different manner.

♣ Last weights session ♣

Today is the last day of weights for the team & some of the players. Emotions are flying around the gym.

As usual, Ah Yong (our trainer) gave us a tin of lollis & jelly beans & thanked us for being so hardworking. Of course, we are the best.

I tried to avoid looking at the rest of them as some were tearing. *sob sob* I think no one will want this to come into an end although we kept complaining about trainings we had.

We are a team for 3 to 4 years & train so intensive. I guess I won't enjoy as much as I do when they aren't around.

News updates : Thieves are appearing out of nowhere to steal valuable items from unattended bags. Please don't leave your belongings unattended!

♣ 3 quarters of court time ♣

Had a wonderful 3 quarters of court time just now. Played 2 quarters of GA & a quarter of GS. My runs were better this time round & couldn't felt the stiffness on the knee.

Mental breakdown after being knocked by Ling. I was shocked by the knock I guess... Started to tear...

I need to stay stronger this time round... No more tearing...

♣ 2 quarters of court time ♣

Just had 2 quarters of court time with the squad, played GS & GA. My movements were so stiff & not smooth when I'm playing GS. At GA, I could run freely without thoughts in my mind & the movements were better.

My conclusion : Got to warm up my right leg more than usual.

Today's video shoot was a joke. We were informed that the shoot would be at indoor court but they changed their minds & turned out to be at outdoor court. What a waste of time!!! They should have done the shooting at Kallang netball courts instead of Singapore Sports School.

Well... never mind...

Got new bodysuit for upcoming World Champs. It's blue in color. Yeah!!!

♣ It's so fun with them around ♣

Game in the morning was cancelled due to the rain & we did wet weather session indoor. Had a mini run throughs for the attacking end.

Had a powerful nap from 2 to 4.20pm which I didn't even wanna wake up to go for training. Was so glad that I increased my single leg press weights to 170kg. Though the right leg seems to grow stronger, it wasn't that strong as I thought on court. But it's ok... just got to pull it through the World Champs!!!

They were so funny today... Wondering what's happening & what caused them to laugh so much. 1 of them had her shorts torn while trying to do the barbell squats & created hilarious laughters in the gym.

This World Champs will be the last journey for us together as a team. Let's make it a memorable one!

♣ 1st training game after 5 months ♣

I was down for a quarter of training game with the squad. It's MARVELLOUS!!! Really felt so good playing on court though it's only just a quarter.

But I landed too hard on the ACL leg while doing the warm up drill & it hurts. *OUCH*

My shooting was 100% (I think) & really felt so different from previous trainings. Guess I'm possessed when I'm on court playing.

The sun was so hot in the afternoon & I was sunburnt during the video shoot at Singapore River Promenade. My face.... hands.... neck were so red... I got a "chao ta" forehead now.

♣ Added too much pressure ♣

Recently my shooting really sucks, it's not just a miss, it's 7 to 8 shots consecutively missed!!! What's wrong again?

Obviously Kate came over & asked me why. I told her that I was too focused on my movements that I forgot to switch into shooting mode. And partly because I really felt very bad throwing bad passes to them & I kept saying "Sorry" to them throughout the whole training.

Too much emotions in me, I got to get rid of it. But I guess it wasn't easy. Too much stuffs happening at home... How to concentrate?

♣ Stronger? ♣

Increased the weights for my program today & really worked me out.

Progression : I did 2 chin ups on my own. *applause*

This morning when we had the training, I couldn't catch Lix's passes. Came into conclusion that it must the missing carrot cake. I didn't have it for breakfast as it's sold out.

Tomorrow will be hydro at 8am. Gosh!!! So early... We'll be making the most hilarious joke in the pool tomorrow. All of us will be in our "ATTIRE" for the hydro. =)

♣ Saturday training ♣

Never expected to wait for the train for 12 minutes & ended up being late for training.

Chin had planned an "endurance circuit" for us.

1. Carry the 20kg bag on both sides of the shoulder & do 10 squats. After both sides were done, carry the bag & do 10 shoulder press.

2. Push the van for a distance.

3. Pull the slat with 50kg weights for a distance.

And we got to do 4 sets of that. Obviously I used a lot on my left quads as I couldn't feel any aching on the right quads.

It rained 15 to 20 mins later after the training ended.

Next saturday will be another session... And the hardest part is, we have to go for spin class in the afternoon.

♣ Basic again ♣

Shooters have another session but the rest got their active rest. Today we focused more on our basic landing & shooting because we shot very badly during yesterday's training.

Did a lot of jump ins to catch the ball. And the happiest part was I didn't even tape my knee as I didn't want to rely too much on the taping in preparations for the World Champs.

30% of my body wasn't aching but I'm sure after tomorrow's session, I will drop dead on the bed in the afternoon.

♣ Aching... ♣

Today is the 4th day of training & we were like "Oh my... aching...." I even wore my top & bottom skins to sleep in the afternoon. Ling asked, "Huh? You slept in air con room?" I replied "No... on the fan la..." Anyway my side was pouring & it felt cool...

Right now after the morning trainings, I will definitely do the soaking in hot colds. If not, I guess I'll be worst than aching.

Good training session tonight when I stopped hard after sprinting. Though it might felt weird, I think my leg was stronger than compared to last week.

Tomorrow is another shooters' session before I could get the full afternoon day off from netball.

♣ Another tiring day ♣

We had bridge run at 9am in the morning. Who on earth will wake up so early to run under the hot sun? Pacing was good at the start but Kate wanted the rest to increase their speed & *zoom* off they go... Their images had becoming smaller & smaller til a point I already couldn't see them.

The run took me less than 40 mins to complete which I was amazed by myself. If it's the old me, I will take more than 45 mins. Well done!!!

Went for rehab after the run & did the hots colds. And Steve helped me to massage my legs. *Woo* so sweet of him...

I just did full training session with them & I really felt so good. More confident in my runs, jumps now.

Now my legs were aching so badly...

♣ SpexGlow starts ♣

Still got to wake up early to go for my biodex test at 9am. Was very nervous doing this test as it'll determine if I could get court time.

Dr Cormac was very pleased with my results though it didn't look as good to me. But compared to the previous test, my quads strength had increased 15% & my hamstring strength had increased 50%. My goodness!!! Well... my left leg increased in the strength too. *sad*

I hit 160kg for the single leg press just now. *wow*

sigh~~~ tomorrow got bridge run at 9am. The long bridge...

♣ It's so near to 8th Oct ♣

Finally it's Friday today, which means SpexGlow is so near to us, the workers. Took 1 month leave from work to go for intensive trainings + rehab sessions.

Most importantly, 8th is really very important to me. Got to do the biodex test again to see the deficit again. If I can hit 90% strength for the ACL leg, I can go back on court for full training & game!!! *I'm scare*

I shall test myself to pull 2 chin ups on my own from next week. Time to test my strength again...

♣ Never felt so good for so long ♣

Everyone was shaking in fear worrying about the beep test they got to go on with, including me. When it comes to beep test, everyone hates it but they will still give their best to beat their old records.

As usual, I'm the 1st to stop running at the level which I'm always stuck at. But this time round, I felt much more lighter than usual when I ran for the test. 4 kg loss was really good for me. My bum wasn't interfering my runs anymore...

Finally I did full training with the team & it really felt so good. The feeling was much more better than last week when I felt that I'm a handicap to the team.

♣ Need concentration ♣

I must be too sleepy to do weights yesterday & caused me to do the ladder work incorrectly. Every parts of the muscles in my right leg were tight. I couldn't extend fully again when I'm doing the leg extension. ~sigh~

Nothing to talk about... Just wish that I could 100% fully recover...

♣ Friendly game with NYP ♣

This morning we had friendly game with NYP in preparation for their upcoming IVP tournament.

1. I didn't tape my knee as there'll be no body contacts against me during warm up.

2. Played dog & bone at Court 3 for warmup. Everyone was laughing hysterically & Joanne could hear our laughters from Court 1 . Well... at least this game cheered everyone up on a saturday morning.

3. Did pair ball work with Ling & everything went smoothly.

4. My strength is still not there... I'm *angry*

5. I didn't get to play any single quarter.

Yes!!! SpexGlow is coming... I'm waiting for it for so long...

♣ Not cleared yet ♣

Manage to book sports massage yesterday & it was so painful. Pressed on the tight spots that really hurt & I was making too much noise out there. The spots that really really hurt were the neck area & deltoids.

Felt more relaxed after the massage before I went for the fitness test. Was advised not to do the vertical jumps & sprints because I'm not cleared to do that. Knee hurts when I did changing of direction. I suppose it's lack of strength.

Beep test will be conduct on next tuesday. Jia you ba!!!

Ling taped my right knee before I started training. She was so pro in doing it, well done Ling! Felt more stabled & secured with the taping but the legs were too heavy to run. Why am I still holding back my runs?

That digusting man was there watching us trained. Damn... he was really an irritating guy. This time round he sat on a chair & acted as if he's a watchman. Should someone just chase him away?

♣ Training CANCELLED ♣

Fern & I woke up at 6+am & so that we could reach Kallang by 8am before training starts. By 8.10am, J9 came & she started to tape her ankle. Received an sms from Kate saying that the training is cancelled!!! My 1st reaction is, "Jeanine, don't tape anymore. Training cancel..." The 3 of us were stunned.

Obviously Fern & I were grumbling that we woke up so early for training, blah blah blah... And she said that luckily we didn't take a cab down to kallang.

Ended up Fern & I went to National Stadium for 30mins run while J9 did her own fitness in the rehab gym. Had physio & hot cold baths... Shiok!!!

♣ Dead from 2nd training ♣

After the 1st training session, I was aching like mad. I had never ached like this before after my ACL op. I still hit the gym before I went down for training.

Aching arms, back, wings, quads, calves, hamstrings, triceps, biceps, shoulder... all parts of my body are aching... aching... aching... I missed hot cold baths...

Did the beep test training & I was naggard. My whole face was flushing red & I could feel the heat on my face!!!

Did short skills session with Kate before I joined them for the run through down the court. The feeling is great!!! Movements were great!!! Yeah~~~

♣ 1st training session with them ♣

As usual, I will hit the gym 1st before going down training. Jo did the session with me while the rest trained with Kate. I was panting like mad again... poor stamina... but my movements were quicker than before I got my ACL. Perhaps it must those extra kilos that I shed... When you are lighter, you can run faster & quicker.

Joined the shooters in the end. I was so blurred that I didn't know what should I do. Fumbling with the ball after Vane passed to me. I was nervous!!!

It was so shiok to wear the ankle braces again after so long.

Quite irritated by the guy who always sit at a side watching us train. It was damn irritating... Can he just leave?

♣ Another biodex test ♣

Announcement of the World Champs was postponed to monday.

Did biodex test today at SSC. Left leg is weaker, ACL leg maintained but with a slight drop in strength.

I will know everything I want to know on Monday. Let's hope it will not be a "dark blue" monday. *haha*

Went for spin class with the national team at Parkway Parade. It was really a hard workout. Saw people learning BanglaDance. I wanted to learn too... wait til my leg is fully recover first...

♣ Yes or No ♣

Yesterday I really worked hard on my skills session but the bad thing is, I kept missing my shots!!! I guessed fatigue played a part to my poor shooting. Well... everything goes well in my performance. Dr Cormac said that my movements were good but I just need to build up my confidence more. The way he said sounded really very positive. So the answer is yes?

I will know the results today... Stay tune to my news later.

Did another short session with Kate before I hit the gym. My movements were getting better now but still don't dare to run harder out more.

Yesterday weights... I just increase the weights to see if I could do heavier... Well done... I hit 120kg for my single leg press... increase weights for other programs too.

Today will be the day where Dr Cormac gives the answer to her. I got to perform well with him around. If not, I can forget about it.

♣ Good session ♣

Had a skills session yesterday after my weights. Good intensity but I guessed I need to brush up on my fitness. Dare to go hard for it but panting hard after that.

I'm happy with the progress now. I could land slightly harder on the ACL leg. Had a mini netball game with Kate to finish off the training. She played C & WA, me as GA & GS. Really quite funny. My 1st netball game after 4 months of no netball.

♣ Check with Dr Cormac ♣

Went to check my leg today... Wondering what's wrong with it. Knee joint became stiff every moment... The worst is when I'm trying to get up after sitting for too long, the knee joint will be super stiff. Well... I guess I didn't stretch as much as I needed to. No choice... Got to rush down for 5 Nations after weights. Anyway, this isn't an excuse.

I managed to push myself to do 110kg for the single leg press. Should be able to do heavier but...I'm too conservative about it.

Being national player isn't that easy. You got to sacrifice a lot of time. Especially in my situation now, I have to train every single day, includes sat & sun, so that I can make it for the Worlds.

Before I wrote anything, I was amazed by the hits today. 69 hits!!! My goodness...

I was shouting from the VIP seats, & even my youngest sis could hear me from far.

Yeah!!! SINGAPORE WON.... 56 -32 goals.

How do you all think about the game? Is it convincing that Singapore is stronger than T&T? 2 consecutive wins. Don't ask me, I don't know either. But I know that we can counteract the Caribbean's style of play.

Obviously the Calypso weren't that happy that they lost. Heard that they were unfriendly too. Come on, too arrogant!!!

Heard that there're people who went to curry favour the Aussies. My goodness... Treating them curry? I despised them!!! Very much!!! Trying to impress others when they aren't that good? What are you trying to do?

Another victory by Singapore Girls!!! Well done!!! The crabs were down. Sri Lankan were physical tough with lots of body contacts. Both side didn't look tired that all despite they had few games for the past few days.

Lix & I were so funny. We were pissed by the Sri Lankan supporters who were behind us & we decided to cheer even louder when we scored! The kids beside us were so noisy... Couldn't stand them.

Wondering why they bother to tape down the game. To learn something out of it? Or trying to think of strategies? Anyway... they won't be there long... It just disgusts me...

♣ Sri Lanka vs Canada ♣

To us, we thought that it was the wrong combi that Canada used. Was too angry why certain players played different positions. Obviously I'm cheering for Canada as we had good times together before. **

I was too excited while watching their game & cheered so loud when Canadian could intercept that disgusted pass to "Giraffe". Was so happy at that point of time.

Lix came into conclusion that she wouldn't want to play in 5 Nations even if she's allowed to. She can't take anymore blows on her lovely, crooked nose. But I am eager... Eager to play with Trinidad & Tobago, these born atheletic women.

Jia you my sisters, THE TEAM, I'll be down to support down again. Will shout all out even if it tarnishes my image.

♣ Singapore vs Northern Ireland ♣

Did my weights at 7.15pm & ended at 7.50pm. To think I didn't even miss the taxi peak hour rate... *&$%^*, but it's worth the $ to rush down from Kallang to TPY sports hall.

Was worried when the score was drew at the 1st quarter. I was too overwhelmed when umpire called stepping when Fern didn't even step!!! Poor Lix, she couldn't even watch the game, cheering out with me as she got to video the whole game.

My father asked me whether Singapore will win? I said yes. Very confident though Sg was down by few goals. Again my image was tarnished as I was shouting like a mad woman at the top. How I wish I can sit on the bench with them, shouting for them...

My youngest sister was just sitting down there, stoning. I asked her why is she so calm about it & she said, "It's not that high what." (@_@) She said that if I was playing, the atmosphere will be even high!!!

♣ 5 Nations : Singapore vs Canada ♣

Singapore WON!!! 44 - 33 Got to bold my letters today as I'm really very excited over the game. I shouted from the spectators stand, ignoring how others looked at me. From the top, I could clearly see the space & how I should tackle the Canada defence. Wondering if they heard me shouting for them...*thinking* But I did sms them this : "For e team, my sisters, "Just go out there and do what you've got to do."

Canada didn't improve from the last time we met them. The biggest difference is they got a better GA this time round, & not that they have improved.

♣ Article on 5 Nations ♣

Singapore played quite messy towards the end of 2 quarters. I'm very happy for J9!!! She played so well yesterday... Her movements in circle & her shots... *♪♫♪♫* Yes!!! This is the great time to prove their strengths.

Things do happen at the very last minute when one doesn't even expect it. When I came to know the incident, I was shocked but my jaws didn't even dro
p. My 1st question in my mind is : "Why her & not her?" I could feel how she felt & I thought she should deserve a place in. Afterall, she really trained hard & improved!!! Some just can't take this but what can we do? We are not cold-blooded towards this kind of thing but we are used to it.

Sorry people, this post gotta be long... grandma's story... won't doze off right?

Rushed down to weights with Lix & Rach after the game. Got my new program from Chin & it seems tough to me. I managed to do 100kg of single leg press without the other leg to support. *claps* I could see my muscles shape developing soon...

♣ Saturday & Sunday sessions ♣

Due to the tiredness I had for the past few days, I couldn't wake up in time for rehab but went for my sessions with Kate. Training at TPY sports hall is very much different than at Kallang. I didn't feel so much impact on knees when training at sports hall.

Seems like I'm looking good when doing the programs.

Today is the start for 5 Nations... I'll be there to support my Sisters!!! Beat the Canadians!!!

♣ Another biodex test ♣

Yesterday I went to see Dr Cormac, physio & did my rehab... all at a go... did biodex test & the result wasn't that ideal. But there's improvement! Now the deficit is 28%... hopefully when the next time I do it again, it will be 20%.

Tried landing yesterday... At the start, I was too scared to jump down but once I got over the phase, it was a good feeling to land.

Tiring tiring day... rehab in the morning, training session with Kate & Jill... by the time I went dinner with my rehab friends, I was so dead tired.

Chin is back

He showed up yesterday in KATC. My program was modified by him as he knew that I got to clear biodex test with 20% deficit. From heavier weights, I went down to lighter weights with deeper single leg squats. Well... it's time to do deep squats now... I will get my muscle mass back faster *i think*.

He'll be giving me new program soon... *sh|t* his program will just make me bulk up again...

Fern is a bit stressed up after telling her that she got to take charge in the circle now. Saying is easier... I told her "just shoot lo... shooting only mah..."

Anyway... I love shooting... that's what a shooter's role in netball... Isn't it? Why so stress up?

Another player down for 5 Nations. Is this a bad month? Ya perhaps I think... The hungry ghost festival...

Good movements

My movements are improving!!! The 45 degree runs to catch the ball & pivot were more smoothly than the past few days. Did the shuffling shots with Kate yesterday, though it was still not smoothly, I'm sure I'll master this skill soon.

Sigh~~ There's a point when I landed quite hard on my right leg & I could feel the pain... *sh|t*

Hope that Ling will recover from her fever soon...

Confidence building up slowly

Had a 15 mins session yesterday with Kate & Pearline before hitting off in the gym. Did pivoting & lunging to receive the ball & shoot. The feeling was.... GREAT!!!

Felt like I'm a newcomer learning how to play netball when I was doing pivoting slowly... but... who cares...

My rehab program is kinda weird in a way... Learn how to do pitter patter before jogging... Learn pivoting before jumping... Hmmm...

2nd skills session

Had skill session with Kate at 5pm & the weather was so hot. Luckily the agility stuffs were done in the shade. ~phew~

I did try to speed up on my agility... but I was breathless at a point of time... thirsty at another point...

I did a 1/2 dodge when I was doing the last drill which I realised she wanted to see the stuffs I can do.

Luckily I didn't miss so many shots while doing the drills... The whole session took 50mins.

There's 1 time when I really landed slightly harder on the ground & I could feel the pain... *sht* The strength is still not enough...

1st netball training after ACL op

Yesterday I had my 1st netball training with Kate at 9.30pm. Still lacking of confidence to do some stuffs... To think I even forgotten how to do my favourite lunge!!! Oh my goodness!!! My trademark!!!

The feeling of running & catching the ball was so good... I guess only those who came back from injury will know how I feel...

Kate said I looked like an injured athletic when I walked...

Kate also said I looked more athletic when I'm doing my drills.

Finally I had my massage today after cardio training at SSC. My muscles were released from the tightness... ~woo~

Tomorrow got another skill session again...

Yesterday did weights with Rachel at KATC & took us quite a long time to finish the program. Fern & Yasmin came over to find us, saying they need to use the post at National Stadium. In the end, the post was no where to be found.

Increased the weights for my program... I did 130kg for my single leg press & I could feel the sensation of my skin tearing apart... I can foresee that I will hit 200kg in the next 2 weeks. *Yesh* Did 60kg for the single leg barbell split lunge/ squat. Hmm... Right leg getting stronger, hopefully the left didn't improve... *Praying hard*

Soon I'm starting my skill sessions with Kate. *sigh* Got to train on Saturdays & Sundays... My weekends...

There's hope

After the conversation with Dr Cormac & Kate, there's still hope for me as long as I keep on strengthening til my ACL leg is 90% stronger. Which means... no more slacking...

Was really terrified standing outside chatting with the both of them. Kate's expression is quite scary & seems like she wants the answer from him whether I can make it for the Worlds.

Yesterday hit 120Kg for my single leg press & I can push myself more. Wondering if I will hit 200Kg for the next few days?

Today Rachel will be doing weights with me... Yeah... I got a companion...

Forgot to talk about yesterday's open training. Lix's nose got hit by Vane's forehead, causing her nose bridge crooked. *Ouch* That's painful. Jo sent her to Mount Elizabeth Hospital immediately. Everyone seems to be worried about Lix, ended up they were very off in training.

They came back around 10+ pm so that Lix could drive back home. She still can joke about her nose.

Lix : "Now I know how Jackie Chan see things."
Fern : "Huh?"

Chatted with friends over in msn at night. 1 of my ACL friends told me I won't be able to make it for World Champs. Even if I did, I won't be able to perform well. Hmmm... he's the 1st to tell me I won't make it. At least he's straightforward.

Another friend said I too stressed over it & I think I am. Really wanted to go for World Champs this year. If I miss it, I will have to wait for another 4 years & the team won't be the same anymore.

Sigh~~

Been ignoring my left for these few days as I'm really scared that the right leg will be playing catching game with the left.

I'm not aching from weights, is that good or bad? Is the weights too light for me?

Shall not slack anymore... this is the crucial period for me... I don't have the 5 months luxury, I only got 4 months. If I can go back to play, I'm creating history in Sports Council. The 1st person to go back on court in 4 months.

Running out of time

Only left with 4 weeks to determine if I can go for World Champs.

4 weeks = 28 days = 672 hours = 40320 mins = 2419200 secs.

How to get a deficit of <10% in less than 4 weeks?

Been brooding through the whole session in the gym. I'm trying my best to focus working on the leg. Is this the test now? To test my endurance? Or my ability to come back in less than 4 months? Or should I just give up now? I'm in dilemma now...

Asean schools...

Watched yesterday's game between Singapore & Malaysia. Malaysian coach was quite sly, she didn't put the main combi at the start. Well... Singapore lost their composure at the last quarter. If they could bring down the ball with patience & controlled passes, I guessed Singapore could have won the game.

Fern told me that the Malaysians were looking at me on Sat when I walked past them. Guessed they might thought that I can start playing already. Ha!!!

Really missed the times playing in TPH sports hall...

Results for biodex test

Before I start on biodex test, sports trainer wanted to see the way I run. He told me to jog 4 rounds on the grass pit. After 4 rounds, Fern said another 2 rounds. So in total, I jogged 6 rounds. Really feel so good after the jog & was timed by Fern. I jogged with a better timing now than in the past. Guess it must be the kilos that I lost after the surgery.

Well... did the biodex test & was prepared for the worst. 33% deficit but not enough, the total work is still not enough... but this time round, my hamstring is much more stronger than before.
Alright, got to do more for my quads... I think I focus too much on my hamstring this week.

Jia you ba... Think got to do biodex test again soon...

Went to watch Asean schools game at TPY sports hall. Singapore vs Thailand. Well, I do think that nowadays the game is much more rougher than the last time. Not fantastic to watch as it's all about body contact at the end of the day. Whoever's stronger will get the ball... I don't like. Perhaps netball should just engage bodybuilders to play netball. They are strong!

I preferred the netball games in the past... It's all about skills... not body contact...

1st jog after 3 months

Yoohoo~~~ good news... I jogged with Dr Cormac... Felt so good but still a bit worried... Now I really know why they kept emphasize that I must strengthened the quads. My right leg is still not that strong yet.

Phew~~ Felt so happy... Everyone was happy too... They clapped for my 1st jog after operation... Thanks teammates!!!

I'm sure my body will ache even more tomorrow... but it's ok... as long as the leg got stronger, everything paid off...

Body aching...

After yesterday weights, my body aches today. Couldn't do much today but still concentrate on my quad & hamstring. Wondering if the quad has grown stronger or not... I need massage badly...

It's only tuesday & I'm mentally dead at work. Really missed my rehab days... where the time spent so fast at SSC...

I missed my ACL friends too...

Will be joining Open Team for training on tuesday & thursday. Kate said I can join them in skills training... Good or bad? Anyway there's no harm training with them... Just bear me for few days... I'll be back on track...

Self rehab after work

My leave was over so got to work today...Rushed down to KATC gym for my rehab session. Wondering if I overdo the program. Just did what I felt like doing & comparing to what I did from my previous rehab sessions, I did quite alot for today's session.

I did double leg barbell squats, single leg barbell squats, barbell chest press, single leg press, forward & backward lunges, single leg wall squats, seated calf raises, swissball hamstring with resistance & abs.

This will repeat again for the next few days. Got to do another biodex test on sat... By the way, I ran a little bit while chasing for the MRT train... heehee...

Due to personal matter, I'm not able to blog for the past few days. Back to work tomorrow. Got to do my whole strengthening after work everyday from tomorrow onwards. By the way, I still can't start running yet.

Heard that mixed team NYP Twist won in Pesta Sukan Carnival. Well done guys & gals. I know they will win as they are strong. Well... just a day carnival for them to gather & have fun. No grudges after that.

I guess end of the day, it's all about humble. No use being so good when you have no team spirit. Some people are just too individual to be in team sports. Perhaps they should change to other sports.

Succeeded in hydro

Hydro session in the afternoon & I was tired. Though it's not a hard session, it really made me worked hard for it. Got to run from breadth to breadth without the help of belt. Yes I did it! I told myself not to give up halfway through, not to use the belt that's floating in front of me. It seems like the belt is talking to me, "Come on... hold on to me..."

This time round I'm clever than last time. I tied my fringe instead clipping it.

Sigh~~ I'm going back work soon... Will miss the rehab gym... will miss my PRs there... wondering if they will miss me or not...

Another ACL patient coming in for rehab. She looks fine to me... Hope she will recover asap.

Biodex training again

Did biodex training again but this time I'm practising on the actual test. The graph looks good but I still got a lot to work on. Time is running out for me as I'm going back to work again.

Received a message on my friendster by someone. She's inspired by how I managed to pick myself up from a serious injury to the rehab recovery. Well... there's no point being sad. If I'm not a national player, I will still try my best to recover fast so that I can do daily stuffs normally. But there's times when you can't see improvements as things will get stagnant in awhile, as long as one doesn't give up, I'm sure slight improvements will come.

Perhaps don't give high expectations on yourself first. Try to aim something that is achievable first. Like me, I will try to walk as normal as I can in a shortest period of time. And from there, I can slowly pick myself up to do more things.

It's all in the mind.

Hydro session

Today is a light session for me as I've been doing weights for the past 3 days. Did biodex training to get a nice curvy graphs, in prepared for the real test.

Hydro in the afternoon session & the sun is strong. No rain today... I drank a lot of water in the pool, be in through the nose or the mouth. Tried to do jumps in the water & I really felt so good. *grin* I'm able to swim using my legs to kick the water now... I know I was damn funny in the pool as I got difficulty trapping in the water. I'm scared of water...

Open team leaving to Perth tomorrow. A friend of mine asked me, "Aren't you sad that you can't go?" I'm not sad at all as I knew that it's a fact I can't go in my current situation.

Pain has gone

The pain around the joint area has gone & I'm able to do leg workouts easier.

Good news : I'm able to carry 100kg barbell squats.

Bad news : My quads & hamstring are not that strong yet.

This week is all about movements. I'm able to play badminton from stationary to movements now & I can slowly stop my movements with my right leg.

If everything goes smoothly, I guess I can come back for World Champs. Jia You!!

Rehabbing

Did rehab yesterday in the afternoon & was perspiring a lot. Ran on the elliptical machine, maintaining 160-180 strides per min for 25 mins. Did agility ladder & felt good about it, movements were much more smoother this time round.

I predict I should be able to run by next week, shall see how. If not, I will continue to do more strengthening on my own.

Yesterday rehab was a joke. Couldn't catch the ball properly, hit my head, slipping out from my hands. The ultimate one was this : Was trying to scare a friend with the ball, but it slipped out from my hands & hit his chest.

This week updates

Sorry all, I've never been updating my blog recently.

Doctor checked my hamstring graft on tuesday & told me everything's normal. Sounds good.

Been doing strengthening for this week as I must gain my muscle mass back. I had reached 90Kg for my barbell squats.

Sports trainer told me that I got strength but no movements. So I did agility ladders yesterday & today. The feeling of being to tap the feet through the ladders is damn shiok. I guess only those who had been through all these will know how I felt.

I can run on the elliptical machine but not on land. Did short range movements to receive the ball, running forward & back to catch the pass. It was really really really very shiok.

They told me I should be able to go back for training by end of August, isn't it good?

Just a little loose

Physio checked on my graft to see if there's anything unusual. Seen her puzzled expression really scared me. She told me the graft is just a little bit loose but won't affect anything. At that point of time, I was like "Oh my god." I can't afford to have anything delayed for my rehab. I want to go back on court!!!

I'm Demoralised!!!

Seen another physio today & was told to "practice" ISOKinetic "training". By right, I shouldn't be doing this but since this physio said, stay with it. Wanted to call my sports trainer telling him about it but I think it's not wise to do that as the physio will squabble about it.

After doing the ISOKinetic "training", my ACL knee is too warm than usual. I'm like "Oh shit..."
Results came out & shows that my ACL leg is 50% weaker than the left leg. At that point of time, I'm loss of words. 50% weaker...

So I did single leg squats, lunges. Did icing after that & go for lunch. On my way back, I found out that the ACL leg is swollen. "Siao liao"

I'm very demoralised.... by the results & the swell. Feel like giving up already.

A plate difference

Did the maximum strength for my legs to see the difference. Great! Not much difference when doing single leg press. My left leg is able to push 10 plates of weights, right leg can push up to 9 plates. A plate difference... *heng*

Quads burning while doing single leg press, good sign as it's developing muscles. Don't bother by the pain anymore as I got to push myself more.

Am I still not as strong as before? Kept lagging behind while doing hydro. *puzzled*

All about legs

Did legs workout for 2 sessions today & everything went smoothly. Though irritation was there when I did the 1st push off or bend, I still carried on doing it. Leg getting stronger now, I'm able to push off when doing single leg press with 6 plates.

It's all in the mind. If one's mental is weak, one tends to sink into depression/anger.

Pain is your best friend. When there's pain, it shows that you are alive.

Good session

Irritation near the joint line is common, & this keeps me going as long as the screw area is fine. Able to push off while doing single leg press & this time round I did 7 plates of weight.

Did interval training on stationary bicycle. Got to maintain H.R at 160 -170 & 130 - 140. Tough work but I'll keep it going.

I'm drained from the hydro session.

My ACL is 2 months old now. *claps*

Already set another personal blog & strictly for my preference choice of friends. Don't worry, this website will still be active but the posts will only be about my ACL rehab & netball life.

Rehab today was lighter than previous sessions. Why? I can't afford to aggravate the pain further.

Off form

Went for hydro session in the morning, & I breathed in some of the water. Yucks~~~

My best record so far... to be able to run in the water up to 4 lanes (breadth).

Did strengthening in the afternoon but the screw area hurts when I'm doing single leg squats. Sigh~~ Got to stop doing leg exercises for the day.

=( My leg has "on" & "off" form but luckily I pushed myself to do more when it's "on" form.

I'm so happy that many people praises the cat, Meeyo, is so cute.

5 Nations coming up

The team for 5 Nations will be announced somewhere in August, but I won't be in this time round. Tough to be sitting with the spectators while cheering for the Singapore team, but I will deal with that emotions.

This morning while taking bus to National Stadium, I recalled the situation when I'm being knocked down & banging on the floor. Almost cried out but I held back the tears.

Well... the worst is over. I had come a long way from the time I got injured til I could walk properly now.

Good workout session

Everything went well for today's sessions. Did few leg workouts & the feeling was great. This time round no pain near the screw area, which is good. Muscles building up slowly each day & I was so glad about it.

I'm able to do step up & downs in a fast rhythm, doing 60kg barbell squats now. YESH!!!! I'm so happy!!!

Soccer match between Singapore & Australia

Harry Kewell came off the bench to score for Australia as the Socceroos warmed up for the Asian Cup with a 3-nil win over Singapore.

Kewell, still working his way back to full fitness, came off the bench during the second-half and made an immediate impact - doubling Australia's lead with 15 minutes remaining after Newcastle's Mark Viduka had opened the scoring not long after the interval.

Kewell then set up Viduka to score the third and final goal in front of 45,000 fans at the Kallang National Stadium.

It seems like everyone's cheering for Australia team after they scored.

Went for the march pass with Team Singapore athletes & didn't expect them to run, left me panicky & started to hop with my left leg. Don't worry... I'm fine. :)

Resting time...

Today did exercises on my upper body so that my legs could rest for a day. I could feel my shoulder muscles burning like madness while doing it. Rested for my eyes for few minutes before the next session starts & played badminton with Farid (another ACL patient) using squash rackets. Ha~~ It was so funny to play against him & I was laughing all the way.

Hydro session today & I was really really very tired. My legs & arms couldn't work the way I want them to be. Was glad that I could control my breath while doing underwater running, from 1 lane, I improved to 2 lanes. But still, I need help once I'm out of breath.

Great feeling after shooting session & did some throws with Ling, a competitive teammate, whom I always challenge against. :)

Did Aspiration

Had a hard cardio session today, realizing I had no image at all when I'm doing it. Ignoring how others looked at me when I'm frowning all the way just to hit my heart rate. Ha!!!

Did aspiration on the ACL leg after my rehab sessions & they withdrew 15ml fluid out from my knee. I'm still scared about the process...

Sigh~~ Not good not good... the screw in the knee hurts when I'm doing few workouts. It's so discouraging as I got to hold back on what I'm supposed to do.

Well... I guess this is the "timing" I predicted. Things will go smoothly in the 1st part but when it comes to the later part, things will cock up.

Mass is coming back...

I can see the muscles starting to be developed on the ACL leg, which means... soon I'll be gaining my mass back. *cry*

Been doing a lot of leg workouts recently & I tried to do more strengthening despite the burning sensation on the quads. I just want to get back the strength asap.

A 17-yr-old triathlete died from heart failure which sounds scary. Over do it?

Know something? I used to hold back myself from running too fast as I'm scared of heart failure, or my legs will give way. Now I do know that athlete can die from heart failure... Scary~~~

32nd ~ 36th rehab + physio

Hi all... I'm back to update my bloggy... Been quite lazy this week as I've been doing intensive rehabs. This week is really very tiring. Why? I had been doing fitness training for the past 3 consecutive days & even did hydro this morning. Strengthening is the main focus I got to do now on the ACL leg.

Sigh~~ Stressed up now as I really don't know what should I do after my 3 months leave is over. Dilemma now...

A lot of stuffs had been happening around... kids behaving weird lately... full of "sai" in their heads. Worst among others I had ever encountered.

Knee hurts today while doing single leg press... Sucks~~ I hate this feeling... It just tied me down...

I forced myself to do a hard cardio session in the morning & YESH!!! I ignored that "think he's good" trainer. He's such a disgusting guy who's always digged his nose!!! Yucks!!!

Enjoyed myself during my rehab sessions & all many thanks to the soccer boys who brightened up my day. They are the real jokers...

I now shall announced that my upper body is dead for a day after all the barbell & cable exercises.

Thinking of changing the current blog to another blog website so that I can put private posts where only restricted people get to read it... It's a hassle... but I'll do it one day...

26th & 27th physio + rehab

Forgotten the stuff on 26th physio + rehab.

Today I hit full range...

Straightening : +2, bending: 150.

It was damn painful... The worst pain I ever had for that few seconds. Physio bent my knee all the way down without any mercy. Damn~~~ I was shouting out loud & cried immediately. My goodness!!!

But the after effect was quite shiok ... Seems like my knee is kinda loosened up...

24th & 25th physios + rehabs

Yesterday did hydro session in the morning & I was haggard. Couldn't bend the knee to 140 degree & the physio decided to bend for me. I was screaming in pain when she bent my knee. Finally...
the bending is 140, straightening is +2 (hyper extend).

Today straightening: +2, bending: 142 degree & 145 (afternoon session). YESH!!! I did it again. It was so painful but told myself I must do it, as I wouldn't want the physio to bend for me again. Sucks!!! 5 more degree before full range. Blame it on the left leg... they use the left leg for my guideline which is 150 degree. Normal human will range from 140 to 145 degree.

Sucks~~~

Took a nap after lunch in SSC & it was so shiok... Been a long time since I took nap. *cry* my favorite trainer is away... Wondering if I will die in the hands of others'...

23rd physio + rehab

Improvements!!!

Straightening : +1 (hyper extend) , Bending : 140 degree. YES!!!

Did upper body massage in noon but did some arms workout in the 2nd session. Seems like the massage is useless... *Sigh*

Got a lift back home from 1 of the physios who stayed near my place. Thanks ya!

22nd physio + rehab

Tiring day today... no improvements for my range.

Did hydro for the 1st session & it's tiring. Never tried sinking to the bottom, letting out all the carbon dioxide & run in water.

Did fitness training & leg workouts in the 2nd session. Triceps were burning, glutes were aching...
Yeah... tomorrow massage.

*haha* got approval to leave Singapore for a period of time. YESH!!!

*Smirk* 21st physio + rehab

No improvements still but becoming stronger & stronger now. I'm able to do single leg stuffs on that ACL leg.

Already predicted my name will be in the newspaper, & I was right. Damn! Stop calling me top shooter/scorer. I don't need all the praises after my injury. There's no way I'll be happy about it when I'm being called as top shooter/scorer through your breath.

Save all your breath in future.

The happiest time is when I'm doing rehab, concentrating on what I'm supposed to do. Yes! 2 more months before my happiness end...

20th physio + rehab

No improvements again...

Wondering why ask me weird questions when I don't even feel like talking.

But I don't care, attitude will always be there. I just got to do my own stuffs right.

Tomorrow is the semis, I don't know which team will win but I do hope my team will as I want to be in the finals & it really depends on them to perform together.

Have faith in one another... Once lose out, it will be gone forever.

19th physio + rehab

No improvements for bending & knee is slightly swollen due to walking too much & doing too much of Japanese kneeling.

Did a lot of workouts on my arms & hydro session together with Ronald Susilo just now...

Yippee... tomorrow having massage after physio... Been yearning for it... my upper body is aching like mad which I can't stand it...

Sudden crave for durians now... the bitter ones...

18th physio + rehab

Improvement today... I hit 135 degree for bending & 0 for straightening... Another 15 more degree before I can have full range.

Good news : Will be practicing shooting next week.

Bad news : There goes my free time...

Mentally unprepared to go back shooting at such a shorter time after ops.

Another good news : I'm getting stronger now...

Another bad news : *sobs* friend said I got big arms...

I must hit 140 degree for bending on friday.

*heehee* Mastered the art of juggling with 3 tennis balls. Soon I can join the circus in few months time.

So sleepy... after good sessions of rehab... I need massages badly...

16th physio + rehab

Moody day...

Morning session
Straightening: -3, 0 after massaging, Bending: 125.

Afternoon session
Straightening: 0, Bending: 130.

More people doing rehab today & it felt so good to train. They laughed at me when I'm doing fitness training but it just cheered me up as I laughed back at them when they were doing it too.

Taking a long journey back home on the bus alone. Guess I wouldn't mind about the duration it took from Kallang to reach back home, as I'm really moody today.

Well well... becoming a psychic in horoscope. The daily forecast is so damn accurate. I can't stand it.

15th physio + rehab

Painful day for me as I got to flex 125 degree. Tried bending by my own & good results.

Extension: -2, 0 after massaging. Bending: 120, 125.

Went down to give my attendance & moral support to Vipers.

Good news: They won Arrowanas.

Bad news: Didn't really have a good game.

Got the urge to go down on court to play but nope...

14th physio + rehab

Went to do Hydro session in the morning & physio after that.

Straightening: 5 degree, 0 after massaging. Bending: 110, 113, 120 after massaging. *clap*

I was trained like a mad cow in the afternoon. I told the instructor I hated him.

Hands pedaling: 4 sets of 2 forwards & 2 backwards pedaling. Each pedaling is 1 min & 30 secs rest & got to maintain a power of 115. (Crazy!!! I can't feel my hands once I finished)

Elliptical machine using hands only: 10 sets of 30 secs with 240 strides per min. (Madness!!! I almost cried out while doing it!!)

Made me choose 4 numbers so I gave 1,2,3,4 & ended up giving me 1kg, 2kg, 3kg, 4kg dumbbells.

Made me do shoulder press, chest press, biceps.

And abs...

Hated him.

Today is the special day again... Been together for so long...

13th physio + rehab

For Grace's sake, let me explain all those bending & straightening. These are called range of motions. After operation, the injured leg will be very stiff so therefore got to bend & straighten. If not, the leg cannot be bended while u sitting/straighten. It will be damn painful.

Yesterday: Straightening: 0 degree (after massaging & using all my energy to squeeze it down), Bending: 105 degree & 110 degree (after massaging)

Good improvements. Today's target will be 120 degree. Oh no!! Can I?

Went to watch A div finals between RJC & HCJC at Toa Payoh Sports Hall. It's not a 1-sided game but RJC had a smooth game throughout the 4 quarters. How I wish I can be tall...

Watched Pirates of Carribean : The World's End with the Open Team + husbands. Wow... 1st time watching together as a team + few husbands. Maybe it's due to my injured leg, I don't really enjoyed the movie as I kept moving here &amp; there. I preferred Part 1 & 2 more than the 3.

Ok... It's time for game before I leave for rehab.

12th physio + rehab

Straightening: o degree (After massaging), Bending: 103 degree

Well done... 17 more degree to hit for this week's target. I'm off my knee brace which I kinda missed it now as it had been with me after operation & rehab. Bye bye knee brace... We shall see who will borrow you in future.

*haha* now I got more friends in SSC. Those who had ACL ops too!!! The Soccer & Rugby Boys!

Today straightening: -5 degree, bending: 90 degree.

Sigh~~ no signs of improvements for straightening...
Taken out the stitches today, it was so painful but still bearable.

Tomorrow has an appointment with Humpty Dumpty at SGH. Wondering what kind of questions shall I ask.

Took MRT after so long

Took MRT after rehab yesterday & a kind girl gave her seat to me. Thanks! Went to Bee's house for steamboat dinner at night, took MRT with Fernie & I purposely stood in front of a mid 30s couple, testing if they would give up their seats. Gosh! Nope. Please! Looking at the couple's face, I felt like puking. Ugly + heartless = lousy poks!

Taking the train towards boon lay side & no one gave up their seats. Well... no sympathetic at all. Forget it. Someone stood up from the seat & alighted at next stop & this bloody young girl wearing tube just sit on it & her boyfriend trying to stand in front of her blocking her view. Guilty is it... It's ok. I hope she gets the same treatment next time. Kambateh!

Celebrating Ling's birthday today with lots of other friends at Taka Crystal Jade. Wow... It's been ages since I stepped to Orchard Road...

Wondering what's the degree will be for straightening... It's so scary...

8th & 9th physio + rehab

Yesterday : Straightening: -4 degree, bending: 94 degree

Today : Straightening: -4 degree, bending: 90 degree

Die... Straightening didn't make any improvement. I got to force myself to do more straightening at home over the weekend.

Open team is coming back today, I will be going over to wait for their arrival. Yeah!! Missed their voices & laughters so much....

6th & 7th physio + rehab

Was too tired to blog yesterday. Let me summarized up.

Yesterday straightening: -4 degree, Bending: 90 degree.
Today straightening: -4 degree, Bending: 98 degree.

I think I set too much on the flexion on my knee brace. I set to 100 degree instead of 90 degree. Ohhh... No wonder I can bend to 98 degree. Haha...

Rachel & Liana came to "visit" me with a surprise lollipop & bubble tea. Sigh~~ Today is fitness training & working on my heart rate, wanted to give up at a point of time but to gain my fitness back, I got to do it!

Met my "Captain planets" for dinner today & they updated me with quite a lot of stuffs. My friend got bullied by the "kuku" black-faced HR. Never mind, I will help her... *heehee*

5th day of physio + rehab

Updates again... Knee was too stiff in the morning. Flex : 88 degree, Straightening : 2 or -2 degree (I can't remember).

In the afternoon session, I did upper body strength for my rehab & was so tiring. Using my arms to cycle the "kuku" machine for 20 mins, my whole limbs were aching like madness. Well... that's the price I got to pay for...

Jia you!!! I'm so tired now, couldn't think of what to write...

4th day of physio + rehab

Today my leg was so stiff that I could only straightened to -8 degree & bend into 85 degree. Like what the physio said, "It will fluctuate like shares." After the massaging, I could straightened it to 0 degree & 90 degree.

Good news : 1 side of the clutch is returned to SSC.

So by next week, I should be walking without the use of clutch.

A 17 yr old girl tore her ACL & 1 of the physio brought her to see me. Seems like she's not keen in doing the ops.

Fernie got the player of the match over at Samoa. Well done!!!

3rd day of physio + rehab

Couldn't sleep well yesterday due to the aching/pain on my knee, makes me wondering if I should get up to get my painkillers. After few minutes, I gave up & went to take the painkillers. Effect only took place for few minutes & the aching/pain came back again. *sigh*

Good news... my knee could bend to 95 degree, straightening to -2 degree with the help of the physio. Compared to yesterday's physio, the pain is more bearable. *yeah*

Went to NYDC at Suntec city with Dr Cormac & Kailing as today's Kailing's birthday. *haha* I guessed Fernie's eyes will turn green.

Open team lost by 1 goal to Samoa today. Well done gals!!! Fernie said she missed the last goal but well... it's alright. No one will blame her last shot but anyway, I don't think she will bother by anyone's words. Hope that J9 will get down to play the 2nd game, Jia you!

*heehee* They used my 2005 face ad quote as their pre-game quote, "The 1st & best victory is to conquer self". *Wah seh...* Wondering if I picked up from somewhere or came from my thoughts...

2nd day of physio + rehab

If there's no pain, I would be lying to you. Went for physio this morning & my knee was so stiff that I couldn't bend it easily. But there's improvement to it, from 60 degree on wed to today's 85 degree, but the straightening wasn't that good. Did the same stuffs again but did rehab today, did half cycle but lost control halfway that caused my injured knee pedaled more degree. Ooh... Pain but shiok... I'm a psychic... *haha*

Wanting to cry out in pain when physio is doing the straightening of my leg. It's so painful!!!

Thanks to Kailing who stayed with me til the time she went for Sentosa. She's a great help to me, without her, I guess everything I did will be slowed down. Now my knee is bit swollen therefore I must iced it! Ice Ice Ice...

I'm back...

On monday, my operation is delayed til 8+pm. Am so touched to see so many friends who came to visit me. Ms Heng & Bee Ling who were with me since 2+pm & I can see that they were tired & hungry. Xinxin came along too at 3+pm. Next is Zhenzhen, Vincent & May & Yingqi. Was joking with them & felt so warmth with them around. At 8+pm, the nurse came in & told me to get ready, went to change & prepared to go.

Was waiting for my turn to go into the OT & the nurse kept chatting with me, asking how did I get injure. Came the Anesthetist who told me it would not be painful to give me the jab & inserting the needle. I kept "Woo..AH" as it was so painful.

Woke up in pain at 12am & I waved to the nurse signalling I'm awake. After waiting so long, finally they trolleyed me back to the ward. I saw Ms Heng, Bee Ling, Grace, Imelda & Kailing. Aiyo... so paiseh... I was throwing up in front of them because of the effect of anesthetic. Was joking with them til I knocked out again. In the morning, I threw up again... Tried to take a sip of water &I threw up immediately. Gosh.... Went to take X ray & was throwing up again... Just kept throwing up when I'm lying up or being trolleyed out for physio. The worst is, when I smell the food of other patients', I threw up too. Sigh~~

Ms Heng & Bee Ling came to fetched me back & I threw up again in her car. Yucks. At home, when I tried to eat dinner, I threw up again. Gosh~~~

This morning when I woke up to go to toilet, I blacked out. Luckily pa is around, he gave me the medicated oil to use. Must be the past 2 days without food that caused me to black out.

No worries, now I'm eating well... Hopefully I can walk normally asap.
